CANADA CHILD DISABILITY BENEFIT
What is it?
The Child Disability Benefit is a tax-free addition to the Canada Child Benefit (CCB) for families caring for a child under 18 who has an approved Disability Tax Credit certificate.
Who is eligible?
To qualify, a person must already be eligible for the CCB, and their child must be approved for the Disability Tax Credit (DTC) with a valid certificate on file. Both the person and their spouse (if applicable) must file an annual income tax return.
How much is the benefit?
Payments from July 2025 to June 2026 are based on the 2024 tax year, the maximum payment is $284 per month per eligible child.
UFile steps:
The CRA will pay the benefit if the person is already receiving a child benefit and the child has an approved DTC certificate on file. No separate application is required and no special steps in UFile are necessary.
